Truly Special
Why is Lexington the ideal locale for the Celtic to gather each month? For one, Lexington's traditional horse culture attracts an international crowd -- especially those from Ireland and the U.K. Many Irish hoping to gain entrance into the racing industry find it convenient to begin their career in the Bluegrass where opportunity abounds.
Reminiscent of their native lands, perhaps it is the geography of Central Kentucky which attracts numerous visitors from the Emerald Isle. The extensive rolling hills, lush countryside, old farms and limestone walls offer an atmosphere comparable to their own. If only Lexington had a seaside, the picture would be nearly complete.
The common values of family, friends, and song can be felt throughout the Commonwealth. In the earliest days, Irish and Scottish immigrants with fierce independence and determination to succeed settled the virgin lands of Kentucky. To those strong people we owe much gratitude -- for the way we live and the values we share.
